After taking last weekend off for Thanksgiving, I was back on the road. This time, I had my friend Andrew with me. We got into downtown San Antonio to see the Gameday guys set up right in front of the Alamo. This never would have flown at an on-campus site, but the light crowd of a neutral game allowed them to do it. There were clearly more Mizzou fans out for the show than OU fans, and Corso played to the crowd by donning the tiger head and paws at the end of the show.
We had 2 signs up and eventually found our places behind Corso and Herbstreit since they had Chris Fowler's camera aimed too low. I was hoping for a strong showing, because there won't be any more chances to advertise the site on TV after this weekend. Our signs were noticed a lot in the crowd, including by the original Washington State flag guy who came over to meet me. Unfortunately, the San Antonio PD also noticed and took away our signs near the end of the show. This marked the second time that I had a sign taken away, but it didn't affect anything either time.
Andrew and I got tickets to the game Saturday night since they were going for below face value. We came into the Alamodome cheering for Mizzou, since we wanted 3 teams to be in the mix for the title to create some debate. However, after we learned that West Virginia lost (which I called a 100-1 shot earlier in the day), we immediately flip-flopped to cheer for the Sooners. They were well in control at that point anyway, so my head began to race. I really couldn't have drawn up a better scenario myself. I knew that the complaints for a playoff on Monday would be deafening. It looks like my campaign isn't over, it has just begun.
